Tall Fescue
- A medium density, bunch-type grass, medium to dark green color.
- A course to medium blade texture with an extensive root structure.
- Moderately shade tolerant with good heat and cold tolerance.
- Grows well in a wide range of soil types and is well suited for home lawns.
- Grows best with about 1 inch of water per week and yearly fall applications of fertilizer.
- Recommended cutting height of 2.5 to 3 inches and higher in the heat of the summer.
Meadowspring Turf offers two varieties of tall fescue:
RTF Water Saver
RTF® Water Saver® Sod consists of Barenbrug's best performing tall fescue varieties. These tall fescue varieties were selected because of their high turf quality under various environmental conditions, including moderate and extreme moisture stress. These varieties were also chosen for their rapid recovery if the turf is exposed to extreme drought conditions. This sod is self-repairing because of the rhizomes that are produced. Meadowspring Tall Fescue
Meadowspring Tall Fescue Sod is a mixture of tall fescue and 7% Kentucky Bluegrass. This mixture produces a wider blade grass that enables it to be moderately shade and drought tolerant. Meadowspring Tall Fescue will perform well throughout Virginia and works well on lawns. This product is well suited for moderately used areas where excessive traffic is not anticipated.
Bluegrass
- A heavy density rhizomes producing grass that has a rich, dark green color.
- Produces a medium textured, more uniform blade with an extensive root system due to the rhizomes.
- Grows best in moderate sunlight and well drained soils.
- Excellent for home lawns and athletic fields and can withstand moderate foot traffic.
- Meadowspring Turf offers a premium-quality, certified, elite Kentucky Bluegrass blend.
Meadowspring Turf carries Bermudagrass and Zoysia grass to meet the extreme temperatures and drought conditions which can often be encountered during Virginia summers. These species will go dormant during the cool season and winter months.
Bermudagrass
Bermuda is extremely drought and traffic tolerant and requires full sunlight. It is great for lawns, golf courses, athletic fields and other areas where extensive winter traffic is not anticipated. Bermudagrass is a warm season grass that goes dormant in the winter in Virginia.
Meadowspring Turf grows three varieties of Bermudagrass:
Celebration Bermudagrass 
Celebration Bermudagrass is chosen for its dark blue-green color, slow vertical growing habit, excellent drought tolerance and its superior handling traits. Celebration is the first Bermuda to perform well in light - moderate shade and will thrive in hot, humid conditions. Celebration is a fine textured, broader leaf and will perform well in sandy and clay soil types. The Celebration Bermuda name and logo are trademarks of Sod Solutions, Inc. U.S. Plant Patent #11,181.
Tifway Bermuda
Tifway Bermuda is a fine textured Bermuda that excels in high traffic areas or under athletic field conditions. Full sun is best, it is both heat and drought tolerant. Tifway exhibits a dark green color while in growing season and will recover quickly from damage from drought and is heat resistant. Recommended mowing height is 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch.
Vamont Bermuda
Vamont Bermuda is a medium textured Bermuda. It has a medium green color, spreads vigorously and performs well in high traffic areas. Full sun is best and is both heat and drought tolerant and is more cold hardy than other Bermuda we produce.
Zoysia
Zoysia is extremely drought resistant and slightly more shade tolerant than Bermuda. It functions well on lawns and moderately used recreational areas where excessive winter traffic is not expected. Zoysia is a warm season grass that goes dormant in the winter in Virginia.
Meadowspring Turf offers two varieties of zoysia:
Empire Zoysia 
EMPIRE Zoysia is the first variety zoysia grass adaptable to climate in the deep south. It thrives well in hot and humid climate. This blade grass is finer and broader than other warm grasses and performs well in sandy and clay soils. It is very dense grass which helps prevent weed growth. Meyer Zoysia
Meyer Zoysia creates a dense turf with a medium texture. With the dense growth this grass is resistant to weed germination. It is claimed to require less maintenance, with great wear and cold tolerance. Performs in full sun but will grow well in partial shade and has a high tolerance for drought conditions.
